Dr. Arikana Chihombori is a family Practitioner and a surgeon. She Physician/Su was born in Zimbabwean. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fisk University and she obtained her medical degree from Meharry Medical College, Tennessee in 1986. She has over twenty years of medical experience. She is the CEO of Bell Family Medical Center in Tennessee. In addition, in 1996 she also founded and is co-owner of the Mid-Tennessee Medical Associates, which is a multi specialty clinic with 16 physicians. Dr. Chihombori has published many scientific papers. She belongs to numerous boards. She has reached out and mentored many African medical doctors from all parts of United States relocating to middle Tennessee.

Mr. Abdelghani Barre accepts award For his Outstanding Community Service to African Community of Middle Tennessee presented by Mr. Hershell Warren. Mr. Barre received Honors Laurea in Economics from Somali National University. He received a Master’s Degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University. He worked with Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement program managing cases of the new Americans, assessing newly arrived refugees’ providing American work ethic seminars, recruiting area businesses that hire refugees, providing on the job training for clients, and interpreting for immigrants with limited English proficiency. Mr. Barre is currently the Immigrant Services Coordinator for Metropolitan Social Services of Nashville, directing services for immigrants, implementing recommendations of Immigrant Community Assessment jointly conducted by Meharry Medical College, Tennessee State University, and Vanderbilt University. He serves in many boards and is the President of the Islamic Center of Nashville.

Dr. Deka Efobi, is the guest speaker, speaking on Immigrant Health issues in America. Dr. Deka Efobi is a Board Certified Neurologist by Profession. She is the Medical Director and President of Neurology Clinic and Associates, LLC, She has offices in Nashville and Lebanon, Tennessee. Dr. Efobi received her M.D degree from Medical Academy of Wroclaw, Wroclaw, Poland, She did her post graduate training at Howard University Hospital, Washington DC. Dr Efobi has given numerous lectures on Pervasive Developmental delays, management of acute Ischemic strokes, clinical progression of Parkinson disease, Dementia, Acute stroke, multiple sclerosis, Migraine and headaches to mention but a few. She has also done extensive research on different areas of Neurology including diabetic neuropathy and computer tomography in evaluation of headaches.

Chief Theo Egbujor accepts award for his Outstanding Business Leadership to African Community of Middle Tennessee. Chief Theo Egbujor was a graduate of Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and received his Master of Science in Public Health at Meharry Medical College. Theo Egbujor is Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Angel Medical Pool, Inc., Friendship Home Health, LLC, Friendship Home Solutions, Inc. Nashville. His companies offer temporary nursing staffing for hospitals and nursing homes, provides services for some of Nashville’s major hospitals and nursing homes, including Metropolitan General Hospital, provides nursing services for sick, injured or terminally ill patients in the comfort of their own homes, assures that individuals with mental retardation and/or developmental disabilities receive quality personal and medical care. He serves in several Boards of African Immigrant businesses. He is a strong believer of mentoring businesses. He encourages and mentors many businesses and Individual in the business community.
